Application

Electric Truck Fast Charging with PV + Storage Integration

Project Background

Powering High-Speed Truck Charging in a Grid-Constrained Site

The project site operates a growing fleet of electric trucks and requires a reliable commercial EV charging and energy storage solution to support high-power demand. It has deployed:

  • 2 × 400 kW DC fast chargers
  • 600 kWp rooftop PV system

However, the grid connection is limited to 160 kW, which is far below the power required for high-speed truck charging.

At the same time, truck dwell time is short, requiring high-power, fast turnaround charging to maintain logistics efficiency.

Key Challenges

Severe grid limitation (160 kW) vs. charging demand (up to 800 kW)

Short truck dwell time → requires fast charging (200–350 kW per truck)

PV intermittency → unstable power supply

Multiple trucks charging simultaneously → dynamic load management needed

Our Energy Storage Solution

Deployment of 3 × UltiBlock TL261 energy storage systems integrated with PV and charging infrastructure.

The system enables:

  • Grid + PV + BESS coordinated power supply
  • Peak power boosting beyond grid limit
  • Real-time energy dispatch via EMS
