Yacht Service Facility with PV + Energy Storage Self-Consumption

Project Background

Supporting Self-Consumption for a Yacht Service Site in the Netherlands

This commercial energy storage project is located at a yacht service facility in Grou, Friesland, Netherlands, where electricity demand continues to grow due to yacht maintenance operations, onboard systems, workshop equipment, office usage, and on-site residential consumption.

To improve energy self-consumption efficiency and reduce reliance on a limited grid connection, the customer deployed a C&I energy storage system integrated with photovoltaic (PV) generation.

Key Energy Challenges

  • Growing electricity demand from yacht service operations and household use
  • Peak loads during busy operating periods
  • Limited flexibility from the existing grid connection
  • Need to make better use of self-generated energy
  • Long-term preparation for higher energy demand as the site expands

Our Energy Storage Solution

Deployment of a UltiBlock TL261 liquid-cooled energy storage system.

The system enables:

  • PV + BESS self-consumption optimization
  • Additional power support during peak demand periods
  • Reduced pressure on the existing grid connection
  • More stable energy availability for daily site operations
  • Greater flexibility for future business and residential energy needs
